Here you will find Leather tool bags and saddle bags to compliment your vintage bicycle. Bags to be attached to your saddle rungs, handle bars and top tube. You will also find panniers, mudflaps and top tube protectors. Usually I can make these bags in Tan, Dark brown, Whiskey, or Black. Please see the description of each item for its approximate measurement and the type of leather that I recommend.
Please note that some of the colour bags mentioned hereunder may not always be available, and the stainless fittings may vary sometimes, depending on availability. So, the style may vary a bit, but I never compromise on quality.
Toolbag safety. The issue of the safety of your tool bag on your machine, while left unattended is of growing concern to many of my clients. How can you quietly enjoy a nice cuppa or meal with your fellow enthusiasts, if you worry about your leather tool bag “finding a new home”, at the hands of an opportunistic thief? many of my clients are using cable ties, looped through the slots of the bag and around the frame somewhere. Cable ties merely slow a thief down, and don’t discourage them. Even a small pair of nail clippers can work their way through a cable tie.
I have come up with a solution, which I think is probably the most secure anti theft solution for your prized tool bags, unless off course you take them off and keep them with you at every pit-stop. Secure, but very impractical.
So, enter an extremely strong, 2mm steel cable, with ends swaged in loops. These cables are used exactly as you would your cable ties, but the looped ends are joined by a small padlock (not included). The padlock could be arranged to fit inside the bag, so its not visible from the outside. These cables can only be cut with heavy duty pliers, making it very secure against the opportunistic thief.
They sell for 14.00AU, which included postage anywhere in Australia. For my international clients a variety of postage options are available. And if you combine your purchase with a bag, more discounts apply.
The Classic: The “Classic” is one of my most popular bags. You can attach it it to the saddle, if your saddle has rungs, the top tube or even the handlebars. The handy size of about 200mm long by 60mm wide makes them ideal for mobile phones, tools, spare inner tubes, keys, money or whatever you wish to carry on your trip. These bags sell for $50.00 Australian plus postage costs. All three buckles are stainless steel, and the leather is top grade of about 3 to 3.5mm thick. Because of the popularity of these bags, I usually ship in about five days.
Please note these photos are all stock photos and minor changes and colour differrences from batch to batch may occur.
The “Classic II” looks the same as the Classic, sharing the same dimensions, but differs only in the fact that it is equipped with two closing straps, instead of the one found on the Classic. A different buckle is also used on its closing straps. These bags have established a strong following since I have introduced them. They also sell for 50.00 Australian Dollar, plus postage. They are available in the same colours as the Classic. The newly introduced colour, “Tawny Green”, is especially effective in this style bag.
The Vintage: The “Vintage” toolbag is fast reaching the popularity enjoyed by the “Classic” and “Classic II”. They are available in the same colours as the ‘Classic”. Featuring about the same dimensions of 200mm long by 60mm wide, the “Vintage” was designed to hang on the handlebars of bicycles that dont have top tubes or saddle rungs, such as ladies step-through frames. However they do fit (and look pretty good) any of the other locations. Featuring stainless steel buckles, highest quality braided thread handstitching and the best quality leather, they are built to last, and last and last….. They also sell for $50.00 Australian plus postage.
